I usually do this in office, let the phone on, or in home with my another phone
You don’t need to check it every minute, just turn on sounds & turn off music.

heres my tricks on how to get alot of gems
1 beat the boss octoni he'll give you 20 10 or even 75 gems after beating him also some free baby pets!
2 equip 3 baby pets any baby pets and then for the fourt put migas on it 😀
(i recommend you put baby umbra in one or baby t wrex)
